Crossroads was originally scheduled for four days shooting in May 2014 but we managed to get that shooting down to three days due to working arrangements elsewhere. In the three days we worked incredibly hard to get the best out of the film by working more than 16 hours per day and more on the final shooting day which required a very early start of 3am to get the sunrise over at Broadstairs beach.
We always knew that we may have needed to schedule in time to do the Pick-up shots because some of the shots we were getting were weather/time restricted and it so happened that after we completed shooting in May, we did need to do pick-ups and so concluded filming in September 2014.
We had shots that used moving vehicles to film Chris Clynes (Jamie) running, we had shots inside an arcade, we had gorgeous shots from in the sea and some fantastic locations that highlighted Kent's beautiful landscape, including the Turner Gallery and Augustine House in Canterbury.
Katie's style is stylistic with a huge preference to long lenses to create a more intimate approach to story-telling.
Please see a couple of BTS photos below from the Crossroads film set. The BTS pictures show the process of pre-production, filming and some from post including an image of the test film on the projector for the screening!
